Just trying to get in the mood for all that is Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and, of course, the most celebrated day of the next few months (my 36th birthday). Tis the season!

Cubs Preparing for Glory in '07?

We signed Alfonso Soriano (40 HRs and 40 stolen bases last year) to an 8-year contract worth over $135 million. We re-signed Aramis Ramirez (always a 30 HR, 100 RBI) guy. Those were the best two position players available this winter, and we got them both! At this very moment, the Cubs arguably have the best offense in the majors. And we're spending (almost) like the Yankees now.

My optimism will become grand (and annoying!) if and only if we address our two big holes in the starting rotation. That is where the biggest need has always been.
