This & That
Tori caught her first fish during our trip to Indiana last week. I'm not much for fishing, but my dad is, and he introduced her to the sport (?).
I'm a bachelor this week, but my schedule is overfilled, so I am not getting much time to enjoy the solitude. The hectic pace of the fall schedule has begun again. This degree is the last time I'm going to school!
Saw "Dukes of Hazzard" with my brother Jason last week. Not a great movie, but I enjoyed it anyway. The rest of the family rented "Because of Winn-Dixie," not a movie I would have rented on my own, but turns out it pretty much tells the story of how simple churches "happen."
My sister-in-law, a physical therapist, confirms what we already suspected: Lucas has caught up to his age now in his development. His pre-mature issues are apparently a thing of the past.
Took Rebekah to see every house I lived in growing up, and every school I went to growing up. I think such sentimental activity is a sure sign of getting older.
And, for those who care, I officially declare the Cubs season over after they lost 2 of 3 to the lowly Colorado Rockies this weekend. How disappointing.

Greg,
I blogged about this movie a couple of months ago. We saw Winn-Dixie and loved it because of the way it portrayed simple church. I think Dave cried most of the way through it. (Of course, we were really missing our community at that time.) I think it would be a great movie for house churches to watch. When we start our group next month we will watch Winn-Dixie the first night! I know I’m sappy, but it’s got a great lesson for adults and kids alike.
I'm glad Tori went fishing...you never forget fishing with your grandpa
