Psalm 105

Great poetry about God taking care of his people against all odds back in the ancient day. They were wandering nomads without a land, yet God gave them shade as they travelled by day in the hot desert sun (aka "pillar of cloud") and light to keep them from feeling lost at night (aka "pillar of fire"). He rained down bread and meat each day. He made a stream of water flow out of a desert rock when they were thirsty. And he humbled an ancient kingdom in order to get them out of slavery and onto the desert journey in the first place.

Makes me think of how my family and I have always had plenty of food, water, clothes, medical care, air conditioning in the desert, heat in the snow, transportation to get us where we need to go, and even the opportunity to travel and enjoy life a little. Not bad for a guy who has never even made anyway near the big money! Psalm 105 lives on in our lives.
